...almost legal?
Time's just an illusion, isn't it? I still look the same, don't I? Maybe I got new glasses, my hair's gotten longer, lost a few pounds... nothing drastic.
I am going to be 18 this weekend. I am going to be legal! I can vote! Yet, somehow none of this is appealing to me. =/ I use to be a big fan of celebrating my birthday. I remember when I was, I think 5 or 6, my parents owned a restaurant in La Jolla... on Prospect Street and I invited all my kindergarten friends to come. Back then, everyone in your class had to be invited. I'm not sure if that's a rule or something, but that's just how it worked for most occasions then. I was so happy that day, surrounded by all my kindergarten friends... no one judging you, just celebrating the day you were born. It was great.
Other birthdays, I remember having a sleepover at my house, watching a movie at the highlands, family fun center, ice skating, my best friends decorating my desk in 8th grade in Mclaughlin's US History class. Gosh, the birthday memories.
After that ice skating party I had, my parents told me that I wouldn't be able to have another party until I was sixteen. Well, turning sixteen came and passed. No party. Then, I thought! Hey! I'm going to have a party when I turn 17. Yeah, never happened... And then, now! I want to do something SPECIAL, but I can't even decide on something. And plus... the timing's kinda bad because I'm sure a lot of people's parents wouldn't let them come even if I did have one because of studying for AP exams. It's a bummer.
Aw well, I guess. Maybe I'll just wait until college to celebrate? I'll just stay home and watch asian dramas or something?
